We are obsessed with beef and cooking on fire, and this is what The Coal Shed has been built on. Our mission from day one has always been to source and serve the best quality steaks that we could find from across the UK, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. We are extremely lucky to be surrounded by so many amazing producers that we can showcase all their hard work, care and dedication, and who share the same ethos as us.
To show this outstanding produce the care it deserves, we decided to build our own Himalayan Salt Chamber in our new site where we are now able to dry age and butcher our meat in house daily, giving more control to our chefs who can handpick the best cuts and joints for our diners.
Before moving to our new home in Clarence House on North Street, we knew we had to diversify the offering from just serving the best quality steaks cooked simply over fire. We’re still going to be serving incredible steak as always, but we’ve also got a stunning new set lunch menu filled with wood-fired meat, fresh seafood and vibrant vegetarian dishes priced at just £25/29 for 2/3 courses available from 12-6.30pm Monday-Friday.
Choose from our starters including Wood Fired Atlantic Scottish Salmon, Watermelon Ceviche or Smoked Baby Back Ribs before moving onto a main course of Sussex Half Rotisserie Chicken, Duroc Pork Chop or Sea Bass. If you opt for the full three courses, you’ll also be able to choose from our indulgent range of desserts including Brioche Brûlée, Medjool Date Cake or Churros.
