Learn MoreAt The Coal Shed, fire isn’t just a method – it’s a mindset. We take the finest produce we can get our hands on – from 35-day dry-aged Lake District beef to responsibly sourced fish – and do what we do best: cook it over charcoal. It’s bold, it’s honest, and it’s full of flavour.
Bigger Cuts. Bigger Moments.
Whether you’re celebrating or just really hungry, our sharing steaks turn any meal into a moment. Prime Rib, Bone-in Sirloin, Chateaubriand, Wagyu Tomahawk – all dry-aged in Himalayan salt chambers, butchered in-house and cooked to perfection in our Josper charcoal oven. Finished with aged beef fat and smoked salted butter, each cut is rich, smoky and deeply satisfying. Think sizzling crusts, tender centres and just the right amount of drama.
Perfect for two (or more), these steaks are designed to be shared – because some things in life really are better together.
Fresh from the Coast, Fired with Purpose. Fire does just as much for fish as it does for meat. Our sustainably caught sea bass, day-boat specials and shellfish get the same high-heat treatment – kissed by smoke and cooked fast to keep things fresh, juicy and full of character. Expect seasonal accompaniments, punchy sauces and a serious nod to the South Coast.
Low Light. High Vibe.
Warm, confident and just the right side of grown-up. The Coal Shed is all low lighting, natural textures and the soft hiss of fire from the kitchen. It’s intimate but energetic, smart without being stuffy – perfect for long dinners, slow lunches or somewhere to show off to your steak-loving mate.
No Shortcuts. Just Seriously Good Food.
From rare breed cuts to thoughtfully sourced seafood, we don’t do shortcuts. Every dish on the menu starts with exceptional ingredients, treated simply and cooked with precision by our fire-obsessed chefs. Add a side of beef fat chips or charred greens, pick your sauce (peppercorn, Béarnaise, chimichurri – the gang’s all here), and you’ve got yourself a meal worth lingering over.
This is food with fire in its soul - crafted with care, cooked over coals, and made to be remembered. Whether you’re carving into a sharing steak or tasting the smoke-kissed edge of fresh-caught fish, The Coal Shed delivers depth, flavour and a little bit of theatre in every bite. Book a table, bring your appetite and get ready to eat the way it was meant to be.
Clock off and settle in with signature cocktails, standout wines and a warm, laid-back setting. It’s the perfect place to toast the day and ease into the evening!
Step out of the ordinary and into something more flavourful. Perfect for business meets or midweek treats, our lunch menu serves up fire-cooked dishes made to impress.
Make your next event one to remember. Our team knows how to turn your intimate gathering (or full venue hire) into a truly standout occasion with exceptional food and drink.
