Coal Shed Brighton is a food and drink destination for lovers of live fire-cooking, remarkable wines, and expertly made cocktails. The restaurant has a standalone cocktail bar reserved for walk-ins, a 140 seat restaurant and three private dining rooms.
The menu is simple: the highest quality ingredients, sourced as locally as possible, and expertly cooked over fire.
The Coal Shed Brighton restaurant is situated in the heart of Brighton Town Centre on the lower part of North Street, surrounded by the popular Lanes and North Laine. We are also near The Brighton Centre, Theatre Royal, and The Brighton Dome.

Our festive menus bring it all to the table: glazed pigs in blankets, treacle-cured salmon, whole brill with nduja butter, chateaubriand with smoked bone marrow, and our Winter Pavlova to finish. And on Christmas Day, enjoy a £150 Set Menu with a glass of Laurent Perrier to start the celebrations in style. Gather friends, colleagues, or family for a party that crackles with fire-fueled energy. From intimate dinners in the Longhorn to bigger celebrations in the Flamingo Social, The Coal Shed Brighton is the city’s hottest spot for festive feasting.

Celebrating the art of cooking over coal, our menus deliver a dining experience that is packed with flavour, and brand us as one of the best places to eat in Brighton and Hove.
The menu celebrates seasonal, sustainable meat, fish, and seafood, including a range of sharing steaks, and 28-day Irish steaks that are expertly cooked on hot coals. The daily changing specials board features rare breed cuts from specialist farms. For seafood fans, there is a selection of fresh fish and crustaceans from the South Coast. Every Sunday, the restaurant puts on a full sharing roast, complete with all the trimmings.
